My trip to Kodaikanal in September-October 2008 from 27-09-2008 to 02-10-2008

My vacation started on 27-09-2008 and my parents and I wanted to visit Kodaikanal from 27-09-2008 to 02-10-2008.  My parents and I had gone from the home to Chennai Egmore to take train. My parents and I took Pandian Express train number 2637 from Chennai Egmore to Kodaikanal Road. The train left on time from Chennai and was supposed to make up its time at Kodaikanal at 5:45 a.m. But the train despite being late by 45 minutes, it reached at 6:30 a.m. on 28-09-2008.

On 28-09-2008, once after getting down at Kodaikanal Road station the car Innova was arranged for all three of us(me, my mother and my father) to go to Kodaikanal Holiday Home. The car number was TN 58 Q 8789 and driver uncle was Selvam. The name of the travels was Mani Ratnam Travels. From Kodaikanal Road station the car journey was 2 and half hours drive and reached Kodaikanal Holiday Home at 9:00 a.m. On the way while going to Kodaikanal Holiday Home, all three of us(me, my mother and my father) went to have breakfast at Woodlands Hotel.

We saw lot of greenery, scenery, weather and enjoyed the nature. After reaching Kodaikanal Holiday Home, all three of us took some rest because of train journey and went for sight-seeing at 12:00 p.m.

While going for sight-seeing, we went for lunch to Hotel Astoria and then went to Coaker's Walk for a walk.

 After taking a walk ,we went for boating.

Once when boating got completed, then was cycling.

After cycling was finished, then we went to Kodaikanal Holiday Home to relax.  We had stayed at Room No:1 in Kodaikanal Holiday Home. In the evening, we had gone for a walk just outside and were enjoying the nature.

After walking, we came back to the room and took some dinner and watched T.V. and went off to sleep.

On 29-09-2008, all the three of us(me, my mother and my father)got up in the morning and went for a walk and saw the nature.

Once when walk was over, then we came back to the room and got ready for breakfast and sight-seeing. We went for sight-seeing to the view point, Silent Valley View, Berijam Lake View,the forest, boating and walking.

After sight-seeing, we took lunch at Astoria Hotel.

Once when lunch was over, we had gone to Kodaikanal Holiday Home and took some rest. After taking rest, my mother and I had just gone to take tea outside.  Post completion of tea, my mother and I had come back to the room. In the evening, we had taken a walk and had just enjoyed the view of the falls outside and golf view point.

During walk, we enjoyed the nature and beauty. After walking we came back to the room and watched T.V. and had dinner and went off to sleep.

On 30-09-2008, all the three of us(me, my mother and my father)got up in the morning and just enjoyed the view of the verandah of the room and saw nature, peace and calmness. We got ready to take breakfast and went for sight-seeing. We went for sight-seeing to boating, walking(full walking) around the lake, Coaker's Walk for a walk, Bryant Park(just saw the nature of the garden and flowers), and did not do cycling as it was very strenuous for me and plus I had taken a very long walk.

After sight-seeing, we went to Hotel Astoria for lunch.

Upon completion of lunch, we went to the room and took rest. After rest, we went for a walk outside seeing the falls view and golf point and greenery.

When we finished walk we came back to the room and relaxed that is watched T.V. and had dinner and gone off to sleep.

On 01-10-2008 all had got up in the morning and freshened up and had breakfast and got ready to go to Madurai. We left from Kodaikanal Holiday Home at 9:00 a.m. and reached Madurai at 13:00 p.m.

We went through the hills, saw the view, plains, rocks, greenery and enjoyed the scenery and weather.

At Madurai we stayed in some hotel and don't know the name of the hotel. From the hotel we went to have lunch at some hotel. After completion of lunch we came back to the hotel and took some rest. Upon rest completion, we went to Madurai Meenakshi Temple and saw Lord Meenakshi and had a good darshan and prayed for myself and my family.

After Meenakshi Temple we came back to the hotel and freshened up to have dinner. Post completion of dinner we went back to the room and rejuvenated ourselves. After rejuvenating ourselves, we went to Madurai station by car no TN 22 AQ 1414 to catch the train. The train number 2638 was Pandian Express from Madurai to Chennai Egmore. The train had left on time from Madurai at 20:45 p.m. and had reached Chennai Egmore on 02-10-2008 at 5:45 a.m.

We all had a nice time and it was a good experience for us to Kodaikanal.
