My trip to Kodaikanal in December 2004 from 25-12-2004 to 30-12-2004

My vacation started on 21-12-2004 and my parents and I visited Kodaikanal from 25-12-2004 to 30-12-2004. We left from home at 8:30 p.m. to Chennai Egmore to take train. We went by Pandian Express(2637) from Chennai Egmore on 25-12-2004 and reached Kodaikanal Road on 26-12-2004 at 5:45 a.m. The train left on time from Chennai Egmore and reached on time to Kodaikanal Road.

On 26-12-2004, we got down at Kodaikanal Road and went by car Indica which was number 5195 to Kodaikanal guest house and reached Kodaikanal at 8:30 a.m.

After reaching guest house, we had refreshed ourselves and took breakfast and went for a walk. We took a walk till the View Point, Telescope View Point, Golf Course Point and saw the nature and enjoyed the beauty.

We stayed at Room Number 5. After walk, we came back to the room and just relaxed and had lunch and took rest. After taking rest, we saw the view of the buildings from the verandah, scenery and enjoyed the nature and beauty. We watched T.V. and during our trip to Kodaikanal, tsunami had come at Chennai which was seen by us on television but no damage to our house on Chennai. We had dinner and after dinner we took a wash and went off to sleep.

On 27-12-2004, we got up in the morning and refreshed ourselves and went for a walk and saw the view point, Golf View Point, enjoyed the nature and beauty.

Post completion of walk, we went to the room and had breakfast. After breakfast, we went for sight-seeing by car which was hired from Madurai. The car was Indica and number was 5117. We did sight seeing such as boating in the Boat House Club, went to Coaker's Walk for a walk, went to Bryant Park to see the flowers, enjoyed in the garden the nature and beauty. We had also taken a walk.

From boating we went to Woodlands Hotel to take lunch.

Post completion of lunch we went by Taxi number 5052 to Kodaikanal guest house and took some rest.

After taking rest, we were just relaxing and enjoying ourselves in the room. I was enjoying myself and reading something but don't know what I was reading exactly. There were some monkeys in the rest house.
The monkeys had come to the room and had eaten up all the bananas, plum cake and also some biscuits. The monkeys had just come in to the room by mistake and so what Mummy had done was she had called the care-taker to the room to clean and throw the waste. I got very scared of monkeys and monkeys were in the jungle area of the rest house.

 So what we had done was we got out of the room, were sitting outside the main door area in sofa and enjoying the weather. Once the room was clean, we went to the room and did some meditation. Once when meditation was over, we took dinner and watched T.V. and went off to sleep.

On 28-12-2004, we got up in the morning and refreshed ourselves and took breakfast.We went for a walk after breakfast. The walk started from 9:30 a.m. till 13:00 p.m. We went for a walk and saw the View Point, Telescope View Point, Golf Course Club, Golf View Point, view of buildings and enjoyed the nature.

After taking a walk, we came back to the rest house and had lunch. After lunch, we had taken a walk again and I had done horse-riding. We went for a walk till View Point, Golf Course Club, Telescope View Point and came back to the rest house.

We had relaxed in the rest house and was enjoying evening. We had our dinner and watched T.V. and went off to sleep.

On 29-12-2004, we got up in the morning and went for a walk till View Point, Golf Course Club, Golf View Point and came back to the rest house.

After coming back we had our breakfast and got ready to go to Madurai by car Indica and number was 5195. We had left from Kodaikanal at 10:00 a.m. and reached Madurai at 13:00 p.m.

We saw lots of greenery on the road, enjoyed the scenery, weather, nature and beauty. We had lunch at some hotel in Madurai and after lunch we went to Madurai station rest house and had stayed there.
We stayed in Room Number 10.

From the rest house, we went to Meenakshi Temple by walk and had dinner at Meenakshi Bhavan Hotel(Madurai).

Upon completion of dinner, we came back to the room and took our luggage and went to the platform to take train to Chennai. The train Pandian Express 2638 left from Madurai on time and had reached Chennai Egmore very late on 30-12-2004. Because the train was to reach on actual time to Chennai Egmore and was very late.

We all had a nice time and it was a good experience for us to Kodaikanal.
